About Daisy Taylor

My name is Daisy Taylor. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (since 2010).  I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelors in Psychology, both through Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. It is important for me that I apply my abilities, spiritual gifts, life experiences and my education for the benefit of others, while glorifying God in my world of work.  I am very integrative in my approach to counseling and utilize many therapeutic approaches in my practice. I see clients from all walks of life.

I have worked with pre-teens, teens, adults, couples, families and groups.  I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and helping people process disturbing memories. I also specialize in doing marital therapy using the Gottman approach. I have extensive experience over the years in helping couples discover their “blind spots,” which hinder their growth and progress. I have certificates of training through Dr. Gottman’s Institute for all three levels of training in Marital Therapy. I also have extensive training in Christ Centered Marital therapy.

I am certified as a “Brain Health Coach,” through Dr. Daniel Amen’s “Institute of Better Health,” sponsored by The Amen Clinics.

I have advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), specializing in treating trauma and disturbing memories for pre-teens through adults.   I am an EMDRIA Consultant for those needing certification in EMDR.  If you are interested in learning more about EMDR, I have a separate link you can select to gain more information.

I enjoy Coaching individuals in their goals in specific areas of their lives when they are at a place when they can be more forward looking in their healing journey. Coaching Training: Professional Life Coaching I, AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors), Professional Life Coaching II, (AACC), Spiritual Life Coaching (AACC).

I, Daisy, have served as a lay counselor and support group facilitator in my local church for the past 25 years. As I advanced in my training, I developed a lay counseling ministry in the past two churches my husband pastored, while directing a non-prophet counseling center and eventually my own private practice.

My Hobbies: I enjoy horseback riding, playing my guitar, reading Christian fiction, training my therapy dog (Rosie), enjoying family, cooking and taking walks with my husband.
